Historical event
An event that completely changed the direction I was heading in regards to education was the birth of my daughter. I had her at the age of 19 and was then attending the University of Iowa in pursuit of a career in the Pharmaceutical field. Around the time she turned six months, I realized that Pharmacy was not working for me. I really enjoyed the time I spent with my daughter and even enjoyed hanging out at her daycare. I loved being around the kids and decided to change my major to elementary education. Going from Pharmacy to Elementary Education was a huge change, but it was definitely the right one. I love working with kids and I enjoy the classes that I've been taking. If it wasn't for my daughter I don't think that I would have realized how much I enjoy working with kids. Thanks to her, I am now on the right track.

It is amazing the power children can hold over your life and a wonderful treat to be able to work with them and watch them learn and grow. Great job.
